The Rundown: A dangerous criminal escapes from prison and the universe needs a new breed of heroes to stop him.

It’s been a hundred years of peace on Bedlama thanks to the Silverhawks program and its current chief Stargazer is getting ready for retirement. At the same time, Lieutenant Quick and his fellow officers prepare to take down an arms shipment when they unwittingly rush into a trap that leaves many of them gravely injured or worse. A trap that was used to allow for the escape of the gangster Mon*Star.

When Mon*Star escapes, Stargazer returns to Hawk Haven to talk to his old team. A meeting that shows how the gangster is violently reclaiming his territory. A meeting that will also inform them of a new Silverhawks program as its first recruit comes to consciousness.

The Story: A solid debut with an entertaining and intriguing premise. As a fan of the original animated series, I was intrigued with a new take on the Silverhawks and Brisson has done a great job of creating a new and compelling story with some big stakes. This story takes some big swings with the action and intrigue and I look forward to seeing how this story evolves.

The Art: Kambadais delivers some great art throughout the issue and I love the visual style. The action is stunning and exciting.
